Men's Derby Meeting during WFTDA Championships

Hey all,

As my partner in crime with the Cowtown Butchers said in an earlier post, we plan on sending 1 or 2 guys to the meeting. While I know the meeting will be the Sunday of the WFTDA tournament, has it been decided on where the meeting will be held? Will it be on-site at the UIC Pavilion, at a nearby hotel, or somewhere in the burbs? I apologize if I'm sounding a bit anal on the details, but being a native of the Chicagoland area I know how difficult it can be in attempting to secure a meeting place, particularly when it's November and approaching the holiday season. We're also trying to plan our travel expenses for the trip, and were curious as to what part of town we should be looking to stay, etc. Additionally, would it be possible to set up a video conference feed to the meeting for leagues that either might not be able to attend the meeting or for those who can only send minimal representation?

I will also try and get peter rottentail, and muchacho to go as well as they are the team captains. I will not be coaching or reffing, just know how much this meeting means and how much it will launch men's Derby into the national scene.

Last year's national tournament, held at the Philly Convention Center, was $35/day if I recall correctly, with reduced costs for going all three days. Not sure how much they're charging for this one - they haven't announced prices yet. You can also always keep an ear out for when they put out their calls for volunteers, since there's always a TON of stuff to do. But sometimes it's worth spending the extra money to just sit back, have a beer or several, and watch some of the best roller derby you will ever see!
