It looks pretty likely that I will NOT be at ECE this year, so I'm going to go ahead and remove my name from the original list.

Anyone coming into the area that weekend, contact us for skating on the banked track.

I will be there. Please add me to the list for any and all banked track opportunities.

so looks like we are limited to just our one designated bout and not eligable for other challenges as initally stated

if you are a Men's
Derby skater and you have not specifically received an invite to
participate in this bout, do not register.

I am really getting tired of being shut out of roller derby.
Philly, LADD, WFTDA insurance... shit is getting old.

That is not what was told to me previously when I was planning this event with PRG. I am looking into this, so please bear with me.

But even if this is true, PRG is definitely not shutting you out. They are hosting your guaranteed challenge bout (British Invasion v Phounding Phathers), which is open to the public and welcomed at the ECE this year. That is amazing. For those of you not familiar with ECE, there are hundreds of people vying for the limited spaces available for these challenge bouts. I believe all but yours are subject to the lottery.

Which reminds me to tell you that Registration is now OPEN.

For those of you who are confirmed to skate on the two teams, please register as soon as possible. http://www.phillyrollergirls.com/ece
While your bout is guaranteed, it is not finalized until at least 14 of the 16 skaters per team are registered. So, please do this ASAP. (I know it doesn't close for awhile, but get it out of the way so you don't forget A.K.A. I don't have to hound people like I did last year at the last minute to get it done, which almost cost you your bout and me what is left of my sanity). :)

Seriously, we should all be totally happy that Philly is even allowing one men's bout during their event, and it's open to the public, and they get to have some say as to what time it's played. That's a step up from last year. They don't owe us anything. Let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. I wouldn't classify that as being shut out. If you haven't been invited to participate, be stoked for the men who do and get to showcase men's roller derby in front of crowds and make progress in getting our segment of the sport promoted. It's all gravy.

I think Filthy was just trying to be appreciative despite the mess, for which I am grateful.
I feel terrible that the confusion around this is causing such frustration. I am still working on this with PRG.

But, on a positive note, we are trying to make the challenge bout at ECE this year as diverse as possible. Yes, there are skaters from the MDC teams, but there are also skaters from Dallas Deception: Shorbus, Rhino; TC Terrors/Minnesota: Dirty Larry; Dry Heat Derby/AZ: Pitchit; Puget Sound: Quadzilla; Central Mass: Jack Hammered; etc.
